HOMii City
Share your solar surplus with your neighbours without changing supplier. HOMii City organises your neighbourhood’s collective self-consumption in 3 steps.
With HOMii City, the energy your HOMii home doesn’t use benefits your neighbours. The software handles everything a collective self-consumption operation requires: invitations, perimeter, Enedis declarations, quarter-hourly allocation and invoicing.
Set-up in 3 steps
Step 1 — Create your community
From your HOMii personal account, open HOMii City and create your community: a name, your municipality, your role. The software immediately checks that your neighbours are within the authorised perimeter.
Time: a few minutes.
Step 2 — Invite your neighbours
Share your community’s invitation code. Each neighbour creates an account, states their current supplier and consents to access to their Linky meter data. Everything is done online.
Time: a few minutes per neighbour.
Step 3 — Share your energy
HOMii City takes over: declaring the operation to Enedis, choosing the allocation, tracking exchanges, monthly invoices and statements. You follow the shared energy and your earnings in your account.
Then: nothing to do day to day.
What HOMii City does for you
The law requires a collective self-consumption operation to be organised by a legal entity bringing all participants together, called the organising legal entity (PMO). This is often what puts people off. HOMii City handles all of its tasks:
| What has to be done | What HOMii City does |
|---|---|
| Bring participants together | Invitations by code, memberships and Linky consents online |
| Respect the perimeter | Automatic distance check at each new membership |
| Declare the operation to Enedis | Agreement and declarations prepared and tracked |
| Allocate the energy | Four methods, including allocation driven by HOMii AI |
| Track exchanges | Quarter-hourly curves, for the community and each member |
| Invoice | Neighbours’ invoices and producers’ statements, every month |
| Manage arrivals and departures | In a few clicks, with Enedis updated |
Allocation by HOMii AI only assigns neighbourhood energy to a neighbour when it costs them less than their supplier, based on their tariff and the time of day.
The rules
- Perimeter: the two participants furthest apart must be no more than 2 km away. Exemptions extend this to 10 km in peri-urban areas and 20 km in rural areas.
- Meter: every participant needs a Linky meter.
- Supplier: everyone keeps their current contract for the rest of their consumption.
- Taxes: shared energy is exempt from excise duty for installations under 1 MWp. Network fees still apply, as for any electricity.

Already working across France
- Malaunay (Normandy): municipal buildings share their solar production and cover 30 % of the council’s electricity needs.
- Rennes (CIREN project): a citizen cooperative supplies more than 100 consumers: social housing, households, shops and municipal buildings.
- Pousse-Pisse (Tarn): a solar park supplies municipal buildings, households and a business, with 99.8 % of the energy consumed locally.
The software is available from your HOMii personal account once logged in. Demo version: data shown is simulated.

Questions
Do I change supplier?
No. You keep your contract. Neighbourhood energy comes on top.
Does electricity really flow from house to house?
It uses the public grid. Allocation is calculated from Linky meters. Your supply is as reliable as before.
What happens at night?
Your usual supplier takes over automatically.
Do I need a HOMii home to take part?
Not to consume. Yes to produce and share your surplus.
Can I leave the community?
Yes, at any time. Leaving is declared in HOMii City.
How much does a shared kWh cost?
The price is set within each community.
